How we work.
The Golf Trip started as one group's private trip app, built by the bloke who organises it. Now any group can have its own. Here's what we stand by, and how we decide what comes next.
What we stand by.
The scoring is free
Plenty of free apps keep score. We give that away and earn from the trip itself, later, and only from extras groups choose.
Your group's stuff stays in the group
Scores, photos, names and results are never posted publicly. Golf clubs and partners see counts, never names.
No ads
They pay little and they'd cheapen the clubhouse. We'd rather earn from things groups actually want.
Nothing in the way of the golf
No app store and no sign-up before the first tee. If it slows down the first hole, it doesn't ship.
Your AI, your call
Organisers can connect their own AI assistant to help run the trip. Nothing reads your group's chat unless the group switches it on.
One region at a time
We open regions properly, with clubs and places to stay that know the app, rather than spreading thin.
How we decide what to build.
We test before we build, and groups have the final say.
Listen
Ideas come from groups, clubs and the ideas board, plus what organisers ask their AI assistant to do.
Test the demand
Before we build something, we ask whether you'd use it. The "I'd use this" buttons on pricing are exactly that.
Try it small
New ideas go to a few groups first. If it doesn't help, it goes.
Keep what works
We compare one change at a time and keep the version that works better for groups.
What's coming.
Rough order, no dates. Vote on any of it on the ideas board.
Now
- The first groups using it on their trips
- Your own Tribunal rules and committees
- Pilot golf clubs
Next
- Connect your AI assistant
- The trip desk on a computer
- Trip Replay, the wrap-up of the whole trip
Later
- Commentary for the replay
- Optional extras such as the highlights reel
- Booking the trip from the planner
Have your say.
